Zumba

You’ve heard about it.  It’s got a catchy name.  But what is it?

Zumba is the brain child of Beto Perez.  It’s a fitness program that is inspired by Latin Dance.  The word “Zumba”  is a Colombian word that means “move fast and have fun.”

The lovely thing about Zumba is that every teacher brings their own excitement and style to the program.  I’ve gone to lots of Zumba classes. Some inspire me more than others, but overall I always have a great time.  How could you not, with such amazing music?

My Zumba Class is being held on Wednesdays at Louden Nelson Community Center (301 Center Street, Santa Cruz) from 5:30 - 6:30 PM.  Class cost is $10 for drop in or pay $36 for a package of 4 classes.

Some Zumba instructors have a fitness background and some have a dance background.  I definitely fall into the category of Dance Background.  Which means I really feel the music and help bring it alive for my students.  Don’t get me wrong, you will get a workout, it’s just that you will be loving the movement so much that you won’t even realize how hard you are working.

What to bring and wear?  Comfortable workout clothes, shoes that give support and yet you can turn in (tennis shoes are okay, but dance sneakers are even better), water (bring plenty!), and a towel or mat (we will do a small amount of ab floorwork.)

For the month of November and December, I will be offering Gift Certificates.  This is an affordable gift that is a treat for the body and soul.  Gift certificates are available for one class ($10) or 4 classes ($36).  Don’t miss this opportunity to introduce your family and loved ones to a workout that really is a party!  For more information, contact:  Maryasha (831) 234-5813 or maryasha@dulcefuegoproductions.com
